Photography
Kinoo’s photography style has to do with the outdoors. I like to take props outside to stage them in various scenic spots according to the prop’s “character”. For instance, the Mad Hatter is in a wilder environment than the Babushka Dolls. The focus is meant to be on the subject but only the farthest objects in the background are blurred.
Motion Photography is also one of my favorites. Special rare moments of interaction, like the mating butterflies, are hard to come by. A biologist at the museum was visiting at the same time as I was and was glad to offer insight while I clicked the butterflies' picture. The background in these is always blurred so the actual motion/activity is all that the focus is on. A tip offered by a sports photographer at this museum was that since my camera wasn’t close-ranged, it was wise to zoom in and stay afar, keeping the shutter speed at high. That was important because you have to keep the subject's disposition in mind while you're photographing them - butterflies, meerkats and ducks are small animals who will scurry away if a photographer gets too close.
